Wifi not Started at Boot and Networkmanager Wifi Last Used Stats
Wrong
by Stephen Morris
Hi,
I booted into Fedora this morning and had no network available
because wifi had not been started. Dmesg showed the following message:
iwlwifi: probe of 0000:05:00.0 failed with error -110
There is not an issue with the wifi router as my wife was using the
internet on her laptop at the time.
Also, when I looked at the wifi definition it said the wifi was
last used 3 hours ago, but it has been over 9 hours since I shutdown my
pc and that was from Windows, so where is networkmanager (assuming
Fedora is still using networkmanager) getting its information from? I am
using KDE for my desktop.

Steve

Major Problem with wine 7.12 update??
by Michael D. Setzer II
After the update of wine today, I've run into a major
problem. The primary wine app I use stopped working
correctly.
Program Pegasus Email loads fine and downloaded mail
fine, but then the panel to view it comes up with a little
spining icon and it just sit there tried accessing a number
of the emails, and doesn't matter which one I selected got
the same issue. Had to kill the program to clear the
locked screen. Had no issues with the 7.10 version..
Run dnf downgrade wine* and it install
wine-core-6.16-1.fc35.
Was expecting it to just go back to 7.10.
Have never done a downgrade before. Started with
Redhat 9 long long ago have have gone thru Fedora Core
1 up to the current Fedora 35 I have running.
That did fix the issue, since the program is running fine
again with the 6.16 version of wine..
So, questions.
1. Not seeing any messages that would tell me what is
causing the issue. Nothing in the window itself and
nothing from top or ps -ef that I can tell.
2. Is there a way to get it to upgrade to 7.10 rather than
going all the way to the 7.12 which has some issue.
3. Have it emulating at windows 10 level, but not sure if it
might have worked with some other level??
First time I've had any issues with wine running this app.
Don't know what I would report in a bug report, since it is
just showing the spining circle.
Thanks.

dnf update
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
It seems that fc36 tries to run a dnf update automatically when the machine goes
to shutdown.
If I am correct, how can I avoid it?

Question on Openssl and stunnel??
by Michael D. Setzer II
Saw that Stunnel was updated, but Fedora repo has not
updated it since issues seem to be windows related.
Downloaded and compiled the latest version, but have left
the official installed.
Comparing the output of system stunnel (5.62) and the new 5.65.
Not sure what difference with Compiled and Running version of OpenSSL has?

grub2 Big mistake
by Patrick Dupre
Hello,
I have not been able to provide my paraphrase at boot.
I mount the encrypted partition manually after removing it from
/etc/fstab
Then I run
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
(there was almost no diffrence with the previous grub.cfg that I saved).
Then I run grub2-install /dev/sda
Now I cannot boot
I enter in grub mode, but I cannot find a booting configuration
Even super-grub does cannot find a valid option
I have 2 disks
A SSD (normally sda, and a HD normally sdb)
How can I recover a booting system?
I have a copy of dev/sda
(dd if=/dev/sda of=/root/Backup/sda-mbr bs=512 count=1)
