How to install new kernels in grub?

Hi All, $ rpm -qa kernel kernel-6.5.10-200.fc38.x86_64 kernel-6.11.3-100.fc39.x86_64 kernel-6.11.4-201.fc40.x86_64 Problem, only the 38 kernel shows in grub. [Off-topic] Data Centers

Greetings, The data center industry has been developing on steroids over the last ten years. It's a phenomenon that is moving from my periphery of understanding to one that is becoming part of daily jargon. I've been trying to learn as quickly as possible given daily bread time constraints: companies, locations, counts, service offerings, data speeds/throughputs, bandwidth debate - 5G towers vs ?, power needs, etc. I did have a box at an LA colo center running a Quad Core Xeon, 8GB w a 1TB two-disk RAID setup in 2013 running CentOS6 until I shut it down recently. But that's probably a relic suitable for study by a paleontologist. I wonder if Fedora community members participate in the DC industry, or simply have some insights that they could share? Or just offer links to resources to read/review? Many thanks, Max pyz(a)brama.com

Hi, I've been noticing for a little while that when looking at the details for repository packages that it only populates the "File List" section for installed packages, for uninstalled packages it just says "Missing Info". Is this just Dnfdragora not doing things correctly or is this a Fedora change to not provide that info unless the package is installed? regards, Steve

/boot filling up

Screen saver no longer working

After a recent update I noticed that the screen no longer goes dark after a time of inactivity. I checked the settings and they are as before. Any way to get it back working?

And bozo2 is a new user. # userdel bozo [sss_cache] [sysdb_domain_cache_connect] (0x0010): DB version too old [0.23], expected [0.24] for domain implicit_files! Higher version of database is expected! In order to upgrade the database, you must run SSSD. Removing cache files in /var/lib/sss/db should fix the issue, but note that removing cache files will also remove all of your cached credentials. Could not open available domains [sss_cache] [sysdb_domain_cache_connect] (0x0010): DB version too old [0.23], expected [0.24] for domain implicit_files! Higher version of database is expected! In order to upgrade the database, you must run SSSD. Removing cache files in /var/lib/sss/db should fix the issue, but note that removing cache files will also remove all of your cached credentials. Hi All, I am on Fedora 40 now. I have a bunch of 39 packages still. I amn update them one at a time, but there a ton of them A global updates get me this: # dnf --releasever=40 upgrade --skip-unavailable Updating and loading repositories: Repositories loaded. ASUS Vivobook S 15 compatible with fedora?

I am about to purchase a new laptop. I am considering bying ASUS Vivobook S 15 S5507QA-MA006W. This laptop is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 processor. The plan is to create a dual boot laptop with Windows 11 and Fedora (40). But I am not sure if this laptop is compatible with Fedora. However the Get Fedora website provides a iso-file for ARM® aarch64 systems. I would like to know if anyone has experience with this laptop. Of course I did a search on Google, but this did not take away my doubts. Thanks in advance. Peter
