color profiles for screens/monitors

Hi guys How do we load & tweak color profiles in Fedora (without using external sensor-devices) ? My Lenovo Thinkbook built-in screen has different (and not adjustable in BIOS) color temperature what my external DELL shows - they are quite different thus annoying. many thanks, L.

[FC8] ssh and CAC card???

From what I understood, the change to openssh listed in: rpm -q --changelog openssh |less as: "* Wed Jun 20 2007 Tomas Mraz <tmraz(a)redhat.com> - 4.5p1-7 - experimental NSS keys support - correctly setup context when empty level requested (#234951) " was supposed to allow the Common Access Card (CAC) to work with the shipped Fedora 8 ssh. Apache fails to resume after hibernation

I've noticed recently that Apache often (or perhaps always) doesn't respond after a system hibernate/resume cycle. After restarting it ('apachectl restart') all is well. I could script an automatic restart after resuming, but I wondered if this is a well-known problem with a simpler solution. poc

KVM image fails to resume after f38->40 upgrade

Following an upgrade of the host (38->40) I could not start the vm. The VM was running f40 for a while just fine. google-chrome stopped working for me, just showing '+' cursor and will not allow me to click.

I have destroyed $HOME/.config/google\* $HOME/.cache/goolge* and still does not work. Anyone else see this happen? I have checked SELinux and it is not causing the problem.

compatible filesystems between Mac and Linux

Hi, If I wanted to use a USB hard drive between a Mac and Linux, what are the best choices of file systems that work well in both ways? Chiefly, I'm offloading edited video files from the Mac's drive that's filling up, that I want to keep for posterity. scroll lock shortcut in emacs

Anyone happen to know which alternate key combination toggle scrolls lock mode in emacs? I'm constantly using two different laptops, and, of course, their keyboards have Fn and Ctrl in opposite order. Somehow my fumbling around activates scroll lock mode in Emacs. define- function says that scroll-lock-mode is bound to the <ScrollLock> key. There is no scroll lock key on the keyboard in question. It must be some alternate key combination for <ScrollLock>, involving a combination of Ctrl, Alt, or perhaps Meta keypresses. I don't know how to look up all key binding in emacs, anyone know how?

More fun with grub and dracut

To recap: I'm booting from an NVMe drive, and both /boot and/boot/efi are successfully mounted there. I'm using BTRFS for root+/home, and have copied them from an existing SDD drive, which is still physically present. The system now boots from the NVMe drive, and /home is also there, *but* root is still being mounted from the SDD. I've run "dracut --fstab --force" (which supposedly should generate an initramd with root on the NVMe) and "grub2-mkconfig; grub2-install" but it makes no difference. The fstab does have the correct root line pointing to the NVMe, but it appears to be ignored. Hey Folks! We will be testing Fedora 41 with the new update in Podman 5.2. To ensure a smooth transition, the Podman team and the Quality team of Fedora have decided to host a test day[1]. The idea is for users to test Podman 5.2 on a Fedora Rawhide machine and submit results in the Test Day App[2]. If you have spare cycles or use Podman as a daily driver, it will be great to have some folks try out and report bugs right away.
