I thought maybe something got mixed up with the upgrade from F35 to F36. I did first a "dnf remove vlc" and after, did a "dnf install vlc".

I still get the same problem.

And why did you think that reinstalling vlc would change anything?  And,
did you use dnf reinstall, or did you remove the program and do a clean
install?  There's a big difference, you know.
