I have a need to run apt-get-repository to get a debugging tool from my system mfg. It appears that in the Debian environment, this program is provided with the software-properties-common, which appears not to have been ported to fedora. Or perhaps its in another package? Pointers appreciated.

I think you are thinking of the command “add-apt-repository”. And no, it isn’t packaged for Fedora. Looking at the Debian control file [1], it has a lot of dependencies on other Debian core packages that would probably make it a pain to package for Fedora. 1. https://sources.debian.org/src/software-properties/0.96.20.2-2.1/debian/c... You might be better off using podman and a Debian container. — Jonathan Billings
