Fedora 10 and UK keyboard layout

F10: default fonts too big

Upgrade Fedora 8 to Fedora 10 ????

Hi During the installation of Fedora 10 I choose UK for the keyboard layout, but I when I log in gnome is using American layout. If I add the UK in System->Preferences->Hardware->Keyboard it seems to not make difference. I make it the default, but again, the layout is american. Thanks Marcelo

You can force it to use a UK keyboard with the section Section "InputDevice" Identifier "Keyboard0" Driver "kbd" Option "XkbModel" "pc105" Option "XkbLayout" "gb" EndSection in /etc/X11/xorg.conf Michael Young

Or use the desktop neutral commandline alternative in rc.local: setxkbmap -model evdev -layout gb ...dex

If you just issue the command once, it will only work for the current session, and it won't work in rc.local because rc.local is run before X is started. Kevin Kofler
