Hi everyone. I am knew to the list and have Fedora Core 5 newly installed.
Most things are ok but I can't get the plugin for Macromedia Flash Player installed. I have tried all the methods available to me and while Fedora tells me that the Flash Player is installed, I don't see it when I click on Help>About Plugins.
I have tried making sure the Flash Player files are in ~/.mozilla/plugins, and /usr/lib/mozilla, and any other place I think it might be looking for it. No luck.
I have also tried to install it manually rather than using the automated process. And still no luck. But in every case, Fedora tells me that the Flash Player is installed.
Now, how do I tell Mozilla that it is installed.??

Hi Trond and all on the list.. I didn't know about that site but used it as you have it there, and I got it to work. Macromedia Flash Plug on my Fedora Core 5 now works!!!.
What a pile of frustration to get that going.
Now, I just need the same direction for Java. I installed that and while I can go to its terminal (or whatever it is called) java itself is not called when needed in various programs??
Is there a site with a fix for that one??

Hello,
See http://www.fedorafaq.org/#java
Regards, Vinicius.
If I browse a site in Foxfire, and click on an email link to contact the person, Thunderbird constantly put "mailto:" at the front of the email address. In order for the message go go through correctly, I have to manually delete the "mailto:" While not a huge deal, a bit of an annoyance. Have I missed something in the configuration, or is this a bug to be fixed?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
On Gnome, menu Desktop --> Preferencies --> More Preferencies --> Preferentials Applications --> Internet tab --> E-mail Reader.

That link has a really NICE prominent Click Here! button, but it directs you to the Mac versions. I've looked all over their site and cannot find the beta-2 version that is supposed to fix sound issues. Thanx! Ric

I can go to youtube and sometimes I get no sound. When I restart Firefox again usually I have sound. Sometimes not. Ric

I was having a similar problem with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, until I reconfigured KDE to use the ALSA "dmix" module. For details, see:
