Hi,
On the fedora start page, http://start.fedoraproject.org/ there's an IMG tag with a URL pointing to a hidden video:
<img src="https://mattdm.fedorapeople.org/council/2015-05-11_Fedora-Council_Subproject-Status-Marketing.webm">
Unfortunately, both konqueror and chrome appear to assume that an IMG tag refers to a small image and try to download it immediately. Finding this out blew my entire monthly bandwidth cap in three days:-(.
This is apparently a hidden video:
<div class="col-xs-1 col-sm-1 hidden-xs">
I've raised a bug against Konqueror:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1223720
where there's a packet trace.
According to the w3c, IMG is supposed to be used for "a non-interactive, optionally animated, image that is neither paged nor scripted."

That's very strange — it's pulling that from Fedora Magazine, where that's just a regular "a href" link. And it's that way in the rss from the Planet too. Not sure how that's happening!
I've updated the Fedora Magazine article so that link just goes to https://mattdm.fedorapeople.org/council/ instead of to the .webm directly. I'm not sure if the start.fpo feed will automatically refresh and pick that up or not.

Yes the feed will get the change (got it already), but it supposes the featured image is an image and not a video. Actually it shows a blank space, because even the new link is not an image. Seems I'm not able any more to change this to the 5FTW image, so could you do this Matthew? Thanks.

Well, that's the weird thing. The featured image is correctly set to http://fedoramagazine.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/5things-bluebits-945x40...

That said, is the start.fpo page including the full-size versions of all of these featured images? That seems bad for user bandwidth, too. I wonder if we could improve that in some way.

start.fpo takes the featured images of these 5 posts and resizes them down, but the images are all quite small, so I wouldn't be too worried about bandwidth. The whole start.fpo website is a very light website and the browser will cache the images for at least some hour.
