It's too bad you removed the search box from the Fedora start page. I
used it all the time. Now I'm going to have to change my browser start
page to straight ole' Google. Too bad really, I liked looking at the
announcement of the articles.

start.fpo was set only on Firefox by default.
Are you using Firefox?
You should know that the address bar of Firefox, called "awesome bar"[1] is
really powerfull. You can use it as a search bar. It looks on your history,
your open tabs, and on Google by default. It even tries to add the www to the
URLs.

(where you can google search, wikipedia search etc)? (I use a bunch of
add-ons so I'm not sure what the default FF interface is like any more).

I can also bring a feedback from an italian user, who also missed the
search bar. (and I gave him the same answers as here)
If there are more feedbacks like this, I think we shouldn't ignore
them, but we also shouln't pay too much attention, as often it's an
abitudinal behaviour that makes people think a new thing is a bad
thing.
Just my two cents.
