Hello there!
I have recently switched from Xubuntu to Fedora on my main machine
and I am missing the xfce4-indicator-plugin. It is neither available
in the official repositories nor in RPMFusion. It seems to be an
official part of the XFCE project, though; at least it is listed on
the XFCE website:
http://goodies.xfce.org/projects/panel-plugins/xfce4-indicator-plugin
For reference, this is a plugin for the XFCE panel that displays
information from several applications in the panel. For example, it
can display information about incoming mail or new messages from
instant messaging services. Is there a particular reason why there is
no package for this plugin in Fedora?
Yeah, it needs the ubuntu specific "MessagingMenu design
specification", namely the 'indicator' package.
Last time someone tried to add the unity stuff to Fedora it failed
because there were non upstreamed patches needed to things like gtk. If
someone manages to get indicator packaged up, then we could definitely
package up this plugin. ;)
