root ~ # grep -n acpid /etc/rc.d/init.d/crash-catcher

84: if [ -f /var/lock/subsys/acpid ]; then
Perhaps use /var/lock/subsys/crash-catcher instead :).

[Crash-catcher] Service not starting, crash-catcher binary in wrong path

<snip>

# Check if crash-catcher is executable
test -x /usr/sbin/crash-catcher || exit 5

</snip>
but
root ~ # file /usr/{s,}bin/crash-catcher
/usr/sbin/crash-catcher: cannot open `/usr/sbin/crash-catcher' (No such file or directory)
/usr/bin/crash-catcher: ELF 32-bit LSB executable, Intel 80386, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically linked (uses shared libs), for GNU/Linux 2.6.9, stripped
/usr/sbin/crash-catcher is also on other places.
Fix the SPEC file, perhaps :).

[Crash-catcher] missing configure and Makefile...
by Andrew Hecox
hello,
as of the last git pull, the Makefile and configure script are not in
the repository, although the INSTALL file refers to them (autogen.sh
works fine). It might be good to get them set up (or have rpms pointed
to from the F11 test page) before Thursday's test day ...
