[Bug 2180613] New: Feature Request: compile blender with oneAPI

by bugzilla@redhat.com
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2180613
Bug ID: 2180613
Summary: Feature Request: compile blender with oneAPI support
for Cycles
Product: Fedora
Version: 38
Hardware: x86_64
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Component: blender
Severity: medium
Assignee: luya_tfz(a)thefinalzone.net
Reporter: koppe(a)posteo.de
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: code(a)musicinmybrain.net,

kwizart(a)gmail.com, luya_tfz(a)thefinalzone.net,
negativo17(a)gmail.com, promac(a)gmail.com
Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
With Intel Level Zero now available in the Fedora repositories, I think the
version of Blender shipped with Fedora should be compiled with Cycles oneAPI
support for Intel GPUs enabled, currently only CUDA and HIP are enabled

by bugzilla@redhat.com
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2188962
Bug ID: 2188962
Summary: f24 backgrounds.fc38 u[grades f24 backgrounds.fc37
Product: Fedora
Version: 38
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Component: f24-backgrounds
Severity: medium
Assignee: luya_tfz(a)thefinalzone.net

QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: design-devel(a)lists.fedoraproject.org,
luya_tfz(a)thefinalzone.net, rhughes(a)redhat.com
Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
f24-backgrounds-extras-xfce-24.1.2-14.fc38.noarch.rpm is an upgrade to
f24-backgrounds-extras-xfce-24.1.2-13.fc37.noarch.rpm .
Since these files are only images, why are they fc38 release specific?
My expectations is that they are the same since fc24.
Imagine having all backgrounds available for previous releases installed. This
adds several gigabytes (maybe) of data to be :
- downloaded
- removed from storage
- added to storage.
This is pointless if the data remained the same.
Please clarify if my understanding is correct and what is the reason behind
'upgrading' these packages.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. dnf --releasever=$NEXTVER upgrade f\*
2.
3.
Actual Results:
files are replaced even if they have not been changed.
Expected Results:
files are left alone unless they have changed.
Of course ,same rationale may apply to any other file on the file system.
