[Fedora-electronic-lab] 8051 Assemblers and MCU 8051 IDE project
by Martin Ošmera
Hello,
I would like to mention 2 interesting assemblers for 8051 processors.
ASEM-51 http://plit.de/asem-51/home.htm (supported by MCU 8051 IDE)
and ASL http://linux.maruhn.com/sec/asl.html (also supported by MCU
8051 IDE). They might be usefull for FEL.
Also I am remaking official web pages of MCU 8051 IDE
(http://mcu8051ide.sourceforge.net) and I would like to mention FEL
there. Preferably with some nice looking logo or something like that.
Has FEL any special logo ?
And there is one more thing. A few days ago I have released one MCU
programmer as a part of MCU 8051 IDE project. And I am going to
release at least one more device of that kind. MCU programmes are
hardware tools but they requires some special software to contol them.
Would you eventualy add such a software to FEL ? I mean software for
MCU programmer. In this case it's written in C++ & Qt4.
Best regards, Martin.

[Fedora-electronic-lab] irc meeting for 8085 & 8051 simulators
by Chitlesh GOORAH
Hello there,
Is it possible to schedule a brief meeting on irc with respect to your
8085 & 8051 simulators ?
I would like to discuss how we can integrate those simulators into a
possible design flow. Hence we can use the outcome of this meeting to
"train" our Fedora ambassadors how they can market FEL around the
world.
We already have a design flow that enables users to design their
chips. Hence as a case example users can design their 8051/8085 chips
with alliance/magic design flow and use the 8085/8051 simulators to
simulate their code they will program on the chips. This is how I see
those simulators very handy. I hope during that meeting we can talk
about this and what we can do to improve design experience ?
IRC meeting #fedora-meeting
Possible time slots : a free slot on
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Communicate/FedoraMeetingChannel
Duration : about 30 minutes
What do you think ? Tell me when does it suit you.

In the case of FEL, the desktop environment and the extra software
which needed for electronics are separate items.
with %include fedora-livecd-kde.ks
Thereby, the core is being prepared and developed by KDE sig while,
we(FEL) can concentrate on electronics only.
So the only testing needed is to test the extra software needed for
FEL, normally I test each software through my own designs, but little
by little I'm creating an automated testsuite that will qualify each
new update and the design tools FEL provide.
https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-electronic-lab/browser/testsuite
The testsuite is open and can be used by other contributors as well.

spin maintainers concentrate on improving the spins both in terms in
documentation and packaging.
I once proposed this idea to szdiallas (FedoraEducation) I think he
opted some of FEL ground work already so that he can concentrate on
the goals of his spin and less software headaches.

[Fedora-electronic-lab] FEL11 release on Tuesday
by Chitlesh GOORAH
Hello there,
FEL11 will be made available on both http and torrent by Fedora Infrastructure.
It is the first time users can download FEL from http. I know it was
requested several times. mmcgrath worked hard to make this happened.
Due to high traffic and congestions on fedoraproject.org, we are given
http://alt.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/spins/FEL/
by Fedora Infrastructure.
Normally in the future we might even see other spins such as Fedora
Education,.. follow the same distribution follow.
Kind regards,
Chitlesh
