My mistake it still doesn't work if I install XFCE and try and run it from
the XFCE terminal.
Upon further investigation, removing the SBT package and installing manually
from the instruction here:
http://www.scala-sbt.org/0.13/tutorial/Manual-Installation.html fixed my
problem. So there must be something wrong with the configuration that is
installed by the FC20 package.
