So, what VM do you test under?
At the moment, I can boot an F7 LiveCD under VirtualBox, but not under
Fedora7/Xen or Microsoft Virtual Server SP1

I suspect this is due to bugs in the IDE emulation of older qemu. Xen
and VirtualBox both have forks of qemu included in their source trees.
qemu < 0.9 has serious problems in its IDE emulation not being compliant
with the specs, leading to it not working with the new libata-based
drivers used in Fedora 7.
