As you may remember, I’ve been trying to get my line6 audio interface
working in fedorajam. So, I found a topic in this site linuxmao
<
http://linuxmao.org/line6linux#Informations> that led me to a mailing list
from the developer
https://sourceforge.net/p/line6linux/mailman/line6linux-user/
Looking through it, I find several users complaining that the driver broke
at about kernel 3.2. The dev says it’s a change to the linux driver spec
for usb that causes it, and he declines to fix it. I’m guessing this is why
I couldn’t find the driver in Debian, they’ve been purging old drivers.
At a minimum it affects these products:
BassPODxt
BassPODxt Live
BassPODxt Pro
GuitarPort
PODxt
PODxt Live
PODxt Pro
Pod Studio GX
Pod Studio UX1
Pod Studio UX2
Pocket POD
TonePort GX
TonePort UX1
TonePort UX2
Now I see why the liveusb for KXStudio is ubuntu 14.04 - (kernel 3.13?).
So, I tried that, and my rig works fine on it. Not that I want to use
something past it’s EOL. I’m also not replacing all my Line6 equipment.
Aside from the cost, it would break my sound, I’d have to start all over
again building my sound. Nope.
I'll stick with what is working.
