Indeed, once we finish the transition to github, I intend to publicize its
issue tracker as our official bug tracker. So if anyone wants to file a github
issue about auditing docstrings and point to this thread, I'm all for it

Yeah many of the docstrings are out of date, sorry about that.
If you're looking for code examples I recommend checking what
/usr/bin/bugzilla does, it generally represents the preferred API usage.
