Would you mind showing us /etc/pam.d/sshd please? I wonder if it might
not be including system-auth (and therefore not trying to use SSSD).
The problem here is that SSHD is not actually *calling* pam_sss.so,
which is why authentication isn't working. It's not an SSSD issue.
