People,
I have downloaded this
https://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//packages/Fedora-Sway-Live/38/20230326.n....
and have created a VM but I can't login - what is the passwd for the Live User?
Thanks,
Phil.
Hi, Live user don't have password. It should auto login.
Please try to download newer ISO here: https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/development/38/Spins/x86_64/is...
Best Regards, Jirka

I tried that version too - same result - I get a Live User prompt for a password - whether entering something or just hitting ENTER just redraws the login prompt.

Hi Philip,
I just verified that the recent image * automatically logins to a live environment * allows to login as `liveuser` without password on any free VT
The first part may fail if you configure a virtual GPU without 3d-acceleration (it was confirmed to fail with VMware or VirtualBox in this configuration). Sway does not play nice with software rendering or GPU drivers that don't implement everything required by a modern Linux graphics stack (a certain set of OpenGL extensions, DMA-BUFs, implicit synchronization, etc).
If you are able to login as `liveuser`, you could check error logs from Sway with `journalctl`.

Thanks a lot Aleksei for looking into this issue. I'm unfortunately not able to find a slot to look onto this...

As a comparison, I just rebooted my workstation and started with a bare-metal install from a LiveUSB and yes, it boots straight into a desktop with NO popup login box - so, the problem is creating a VM via virt-manager - I haven't had a problem previously with XFCE, KDE etc LiveISO installs so I guess the problem must be as you describe above. Years ago I used to create VMs from ks scripts but I have gotten lazy over the years and have just been using virt-manager when necessary for a long time now. I am guessing there are config options to get virt-manager to work but I won't have time to look at that for a while . .
Thanks people!

Yes, go to the machine settings and enable graphical 3D HW acceleration.

With virt-manager on Silverblue 38 host, booting Sway 38 RC1.4 ISO works - only changed from BIOS to UEFI in the Guest settings.
