Let me reply inline, upside-down. Took me a bit longer here as I wanted
to give some thought to replying, so I'm underpromising :).

Yeah the list does not seem to be too active. Indeed your
submissions, from May 2013, seem to be the last activity before
mine and for all practical purposes the list never seemed very
productive over the four years it has been up.
Honestly, non-(a)redhat.com submissions to this list have been rather
light. I will say, as original author/distiller, I made sure to spread
my net of input as wide as possible. Based on the depth and spread of
folks in free/open source communities over the last decade that I've
been swapping stories with (writer lingo for, "Sucking in your details
like a sponge preparation for My Work"), I think this book _represents_
the distillation from no fewer than 35% but probably no more than 50%
non-Red Hat community geeks. In that way of twisting the metrics :) it
represents a nicely broad community.
But that's like taking the mentoring of software Jedi knights and saying
that means the resulting code of their padawan comes directly from them.
Yes, to some degree. Darth Vader, to the other degree.
Thus I own that this book is really 99.*% @redhat.com, and I consider it
to be it's biggest recursive failure.
I think it's fixable. and I'm feeling that refreshed commitment I
haven't felt in this direction in about ... four years. :)
Also, I looked at TOSW wiki itself, and it too seems to have
stalled. Over the past 365 days, there was only one post (other
than my recent contributions) on 3 June 2014.
Karsten did say he had been pulled away to work on a demanding
project.
Yeah, for those who noticed the new relationship between Red Hat and
CentOS, that distracted me behind closed doors for most of the last
two years.
I wonder if there is actually any interest in the effort?
That was why I brought it up at the Community Leadership Summit and
the FLOSS Metrics Meeting, because I'm interested and shouldn't
attempt to do it all myself. :)

Maybe we can do a roll call on the list to see who is still
interested in participating?
