I'm not really sure about the syncing issue TBH, you can try filing a bug and
I can point more qualified people at it, I suspect it's a known issue though

I just wish video lip-sync also gets fixed eventually. Do you know if there's
a bug for that? Unfortunately and for some time now video and audio on youtube
are always out of sync.
