We have some spins which are rather outdated, a few perhaps are even dead.
We should make it impossible to access the download tab in these spin
pages.
Solution:
* Check on the JSON file if the spin is available before displaying the
spin page with the download tab
* Check and remove variables (curr_id), if they are used outside the
download tab

rev d77ff0e is a workaround, which needs to be reverted.
Problem is that on data/templates/sidebar.html, formatsize retuns 0 as the
json stats file has size: 0, from puppet
./modules/torrent/files/torrentjsonstats.py.
but puppet/modules/torrent/files/torrent-generator/torrent-generator is
fine for http://torrent.fedoraproject.org
So we need to add again the ISO size, as a variable on this string, that
needs to be translatable.

The tips on how to use fedora on http://fedoraproject.org/en/using/ are
based on fedora 14/GNOME2 and are thus outdated. This includes the
screenshots as well as some of the tips themselves.
Particularly "Create custom app launchers" describes a function/feature
that is not present in GNOME3 and represent a very non-GNOME3 workflow (I
think it should be removed).
With GNOME 3.6/fedora 18 around the corner its exists a good opportunity
to create new use-cases.

fedora.next, ideas for the websites
by Robert Mayr
Hi all,
I know it's rather early, but the WG decisions are going more concrete
every week, so we could start to collect ideas of how to make the
websites look like and what would be the best solution to keep the
pages user-friendly, clear and informative at the same time. Once we
have something to work on, we can open a specific trac ticket to start
coding.
It's also clear we depend on the marketing and design team, this means
the earlier we have some ideas the better, because we can speak to
them in time.
The actual status, and for F21 we shouldn't have any surprises, is
about 3 products:
* Workstation
* Server
* Cloud
All of them have the same Core and will be released at the same date
(for F21). We need also to give all of these products the same
importance.
Pages affected by this change are mainly:
index, get-fedora, get-fedora-all, verify, get-prerelease.
If we look at it farther, we should also change the splash pages and
the using and features pages (here we need marketing).
The work for F21 Alpha (if we definitely use the new release cycle) is
limited to the get-prerelease and verify page. There should be also a
few adjustments on the index, IMHO.
But the work on the get-prerelease page surely will give us the
direction on how to present the three products, so it's rather
important because it will be reflected afterwards in the get-fedora
page (for final release).
Personally I'd see a three column layout for the three products, this
should work as entry page and once the user select the product he is
interested in, he will be redirected to the specific page where he'll
find also the download button. This can be a tab within the same page
or a new page, I'd prefer a tab as it's much faster.
I have already some doubts we need to figure out asap:
What's with spins? Will we still have separated images? It seems not,
but I may be totally wrong here...for all these doubts we need to have
as many informations as possible from the WG, and FESCo filed an
activity report to keep track of the decisions [1].
If you have any ideas or addtions to this please add them, this topic
should work as brainstorming and news-collector, in order to not
forget anything important when rewriting the pages.

ask.fedoraproject.org - login failure from my OpenID account
by Neil Stevenson
Hi there
I'm struggling to get access to my account on ask.fedoraproject.org. It looks like the authentication I use isn't being accepted. My account username is 'cobra' and my login credentials uses a startssl.com certificate using the login url of 'https://cobra.startssl.com.
I have used this for a couple of months or so without any problem, but now when I try it, I get this message:
Server denied check_authentication
at the top of the screen after authenticating with my certificate provider.
Could there be some handshake going wrong here? I signed up again with my Google credentials and the username 'Cobra', but it's not my old account.
Is there any way you can help? This is the only login mechanism I have on my account - if this can be fixed, then I think it might be good to add some extra ones...
Thanks for any help you can give here.
Neil.

Getting involved in Fedoraproject
by Souradeep De
Hello,
I am Souradeep De, from Kolkata, India. I am currently pursuing my
B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering at Dr.B.C.Roy Engineering
College, Durgapur, India.
I have experience in building webapps using Python, Django and Flask.
I am proficient in HTML, CSS and know some JavaScript and JavaScript
frameworks like jQuery. Other programming languages that I know
include C, C++ and Java.
I have been using Fedora for almost 2 years now but didn't yet
contribute to Fedora. To start with, I would like to contribute to the
Fedora websites and infrastructure projects. I would like to start up
with some easy fixes and then when I am comfortable enough, move on to
more serious bugs.

Contribution to Fedora
by Nitin Agarwal
Hi,
Here, its Nitin Agarwal, an open source software developer and enthusiast.
I am currently pursuing Computer science and Engineering at International
Institute of Information Technology INDIA.
I have worked with the open source organisations and very much aware of the
work flow development and tools used for contributing to the open source
organisations. My Programming languages that I used to code is GNU C/C++,
Python, many of the web technologies, CMS and other tools like Flask API,
Webob, Bottle API, Django, Web2py, etc
I would like to contribute to Fedora on the Websites and Infrastructure
Projects.
On one of the mailing list I came to know that you have been looking for
some contributors to help upstream implement some of the features we need.
I am interested to contribute to it and would like to know about the
details of the project work and where to get started from . I would like to
start off with the work, pursue it through Google Summer of Code 2014 and
then contribute as an active member to the Fedora Community.

Introduction: Mario Cavero
by Mario Cavero
Hello! My name is Mario, from Barcelona (Spain). Currently studying
Computer Engineering. I've been using Linux OSes for 3 years; two months
ago switched to Fedora. You'll find me at IRC as mariocav.
I've joined the websites and infrastructure mail lists. My experience is
very limited; "sysadmin" of a CentOS server that offer web-related
services: dns/mail/http/other-basic-stuff. Some experience in web
development: html/css/js/php - but not python! :'(, and C/C++ applications.
I'll keep around here and the wikis and hopefully will start helping
with easy fixes soon.
Bye! :)
