documentation for translation
by Noriko Mizumoto
Hi docs team and websites team
As many of you already notice, translation team is planning to move from
Transifex to Zanata. The detailed info is available this page [1].
>From F22, we are looking at to accept translation at newly created
instance. Please notice that nothing is changed or impacted for F21.
Now I am gathering the information of all involved package owners, so
that I can send out necessary information for the move to each owner
timely manner. Could you kindly check the sheet '2nd-docs' or
'3rd-websites' in the spreadsheet [2] and advise if any deprecated
document, if any owner update, if any new document to add, etc?
Also we are going to set up adequate time frame to move for owners. Atm,
the plan is that 'upstream' and/or 'docs' start to move, and followed by
'websites' and 'main', rough estimation is one month.
How many weeks do your teams need to move? When the best timing for your
teams?

Well I got, throuhg the websites mailing list, 4 mails, and all of
them are out of context, or better, they are *not* websites related.
If you want to turn the spamming back to me, ok, but this is not
really the case here...

> My emails have been placed with discernment, and have entered no mailing lists - that is, of course, unless Fedora has again breached my privacy. Those addresses of whom I have sent these emails have been private addresses, advertised on your site as the appropriate ones to approach. In cases where I have cc'd addresses, I did so because they were first cc'd by an individual recipient of the fedora team, who then mass cc'd their colleagues for help. I simply am mirroring the cultural behavior of "openness and transparency" I've been addressed with.
>
> I repeat, I have not spammed any mailing list. If I have, I was totally unaware.
I don't know if there were any emails before you copied in the
websites ML, if yes I obviously can't be aware of it. I just wanted to
give you the right referral for your legal question, adding that the
topic is not related to the websites team.
> I wish Fedora would be more ethically and socially sensitive on this matter. There is a good chance you are technically legally covered, but I thought you might have more character than the bare minimum. I would like to see sensitivity to these issues and for them to be taken seriously.
>
> Robert, compared to your colleagues, I feel your behavior has been subprofessional and a disappointment, but I wish you the best. I do believe you are doing your best and have good intentions.
Sure, and I think you also have good intentions and I'm not saying
your request is disappointing. You should simply address your concerns
to the right persons or responsibles (and yes you're right, I'm not
one of them); the websites team can't help you here and you should
better copy this list out in your next emails, unless you want to make
the discussion more public.
Have a nice sunday,
kind regards.

Policy change for fedora ambassadors
by Clinton Zeimet
My complaint rests on the fact that, to become an Ambassador in 2009, Fedora recommended writing a email to the community with personal information in it.
Today, Fedora asks the potential applicant to present this info on a user page of which the info is not archived by third parties as readily.
In 2009, I trusted Fedora. Fedora sled me to write an email to the marketing list that would instill 'trust' in me - yes, using that very language.
That language was misleading and concealed the supposes open and transparent nature of the info I was divulging.
Please help me contact Redhat legal affairs. They were helpful before, and would probably be glad to bring final resolution to the issue.
Please consider that openness and transparency are only legitimate if entered into with full consent of the user.
Without this prerequisite, what you claim as open is a socially irresponsible was to abdicate responsibility on your part.

Trying to find the owner of a fedora mailing list
by Clinton Zeimet
I need to ask the owner of the Fedora marketing mailing list to contact a website that archives all of their correspondence.
Fedora does not adequately notify people that all of their emails go to a public archive. As a result I have information that needs to be taken off.
My information was removed from the Red Hat sponsored archive but since then other sites have archived the information.
I think fedora is legally responsible for not being upfront about where information goes that volunteers post on their site. It is not clear at all.

Resolving the matter
by Clinton Zeimet
I would appreciate it if you would allow me to provide you the specific links and email addresses within an email I compose, and all you have to do is forward and indicate you are the web master so items can be removed.
The total would only be three forwarded emails.
Could you do me a favor please?

This wasn't on the site until AFTER I had a problem
by Clinton Zeimet
Personal Information
Fedora is a very visible and transparent project, which means that its mailing lists are archived and mirrored in many places on the internet outside of our control. Please use caution when sharing personal information with Fedora on a mailing list, because it is not possible for us to remove any postings from the wider Internet universe after they are sent. For more details, please refer to Fedora's Privacy Policy.
