Hello Sir & Dear Friends,
This is probably better asked on the Fedora user list.
Namaskar. I am from India. I am an occasional user of desktop
computer, not
having any technical knowledge.
Although I am a big fan of *Linux*, I use msWindows to be in the mass, to
get timely assistance/help & of course,
getting my software problem repaired easily. I tried different linux
distributions on live CDs and liked Linux Mint & Ubuntu the most.
Being dependent on Graphic User Interface (point and click[?]), I liked
Gnome2, Mate and Cinnamon the most. GNOME 3 and above
are really cumbersome for me.
Fedora does have Cinnamon and Mate. Through Fedora 18 you could also use
forced fallback mode to get some of the gnome2 experience with gnome3.
Fallback mode is no longer available in Fedor 19 / Rawhide.
I could not have the courage to fully install a Linux distribution on
my
PC.Once I did install Ubuntu but had to come back to WindowsXp
due to not having any support from my
family/friends here. Surprisingly some of Govt.or other institutions do
encourage use of Microsoft
products.
I am eager to know if *fedora* comes with Cinnamon environment. If you
assess my user ability do you feel *fedora* is suitable for me?
Thank you for listening to me.
Probably the main thing to consider with Fedora as opposed to other linux
distributions is that Fedora releases are only supported for about 13 months.
(One month past the second following release.) And to get some of the latest
stuff you may want to update every 6 months or so (every release instead of
every other release).
