Good to hear that the problem was resolved for you.
About using setup.py: this is the standard Python way of
creating/installing packages, so if you make your own Python projects
with or without DevAssistant, it is good to use it (see [1]). It allows
you to easily package all files necessary for distributing your package
on the Python Package Index [2].
We will add this step to the readme anyway, thanks for pointing this out.
