And bind was okey & working prior & at the time of IPA setup start. Could it be some underlying problem? Perhaps OS/hardware limitations which could affect IPA? I do in a qemu-kvm with 2 high perf cpus and 6GB of mem.
Could a flaky ssh connection over many networks & tunnels at the time of install process, make IPA setup process trip over itself like that? Hmm...
More likely security - perhaps setattr +i is in effect, or other things preventing the creation of the file and/or directory. In which case, the issue would be not getting a different error earlier in the process.
I'm using FreeIPA together with Red Hat Satellite which requires some very special permissions on these files (including setattr) - and I've seen similar types of errors if you try to upgrade/fix freeipa issues with those required Satellite changes in effect.
