Exactly so. ("Crash" was wrong, sorry.) The main bit of it seemed to be:
... backendWaitLoop(snmp_fd=6, addr=0xb8ff29ec, side_cb=0xb77a0760)
... Error: /invalidfont in /findfont
... Operand stack:
... Helvetica
I can supply some portion of error_log if needed. (Please tell me if I should
redact something -- its permissions are -rw------- .)
I then found this report, and ran
gs -sDEVICE=nullpage -dBATCH -c '(Helvetica) findfont'
which (didn't actually "crash" but) produced some output similar to Comment 2
above.

Why do you say "apparently because of ghostscript crashing"? Was there an error
message in the error_log file?
