There's a huge bug in building i386 on a x86_64 platform. In this case,
it may be either of a popt.i386 package missing on the host (needs to be
installed), the non-chroot linking that anaconda does (sigh), or missing
libraries because of how anaconda installs these into a tree.
My recommendation at this point, is to use mock;
# yum install mock
Edit /etc/mock/site-defaults.cfg to bind mount /selinux into the chroot:
config_opts['plugin_conf']['bind_mount_opts']['dirs'].append(('/selinux/',
'/selinux/' ))
Then,
$ mock -v -r fedora-10-i386 init
$ mock -v -r fedora-10-i386 install comps-extras createrepo \
rhpl pykickstart livecd-tools anaconda-runtime squashfs-tools \
busybox-anaconda notify-python usermode pam python automake \
intltool gettext desktop-file-utils glib2-devel gcc \
cobbler koan deltarpm pygtk pygtk2-libglade gnome-python2-gconf \
system-config-kickstart jigdo python-virtinst git sudo \
spin-kickstarts mock
$ mock -v -r fedora-10-i386 shell
mock> git clone git://git.fedorahosted.org/revisor
mock> cd /revisor
mock> ./switchhere --yes
mock> autoreconf && ./configure
mock> rm -rf /var/lib/rpm/__db.00*
mock> ./revisor.py --cli [options]
I'm very sorry it has to be like this :/ I'm working on getting this
fixed but re-writing the building procedures anaconda has now isn't an
easy task :/

more problem on rhel/centos
by Farkas Levente
hi,
now as we can create centos-5 iso with fedora-9 and revisor-2.1.1-7.fc9
it's turn out that it create bad iso. the result is similar to the bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=461923
that's why i filled a ticket about it. but after i spend almost my day
with it it turn out that revisor create different images then the
original imagas ie. in the disk's:
images/*.img
are different what's more important libraries and files are missing or
different:
/lib/libcrypto.so.*
/lib/libssl.so*
/lib/libhandle.so*
/usr/sbin/ jfs, xfs raiserfs tools
/usr/bin/gpart
ans some libs are different ??? like:
ld-linux.so.2
libc.so.6
libstdc++.so*
...
why?
and anyway not simple copy these files from the distro's images and
isolinux dir into the result iso?
was it fixed in any newer version or it'd be better to give it up and
create iso images by hand since revisor never be able to generate a
working rhel/centos iso?

generate rhel/centos iso
by Farkas Levente
hi,
currently it's still not possible to generate rhel/centos iso with
revisor. the reasons:
- on the latest rhel/centos revisor is not working:-( i wrote about it
many mails.
- on fedora 10 centos iso generation is not supported, but if i rebuild
squashfs-tools-3.0-4 i've got this errors:
----------------------------------
Building Installation Images:
0.0% Setting rundir to /var/tmp/revisor-rundir
Running command: /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime/buildinstall --product Linux
--variant v4-i386 --version 4 --release "Linux 4" --prodpath Linux
/var/tmp/revisor-pungi/4/v4-i386/i386/os
Extra information: /var/tmp/revisor-rundir False None
/usr/lib/anaconda-runtime/buildinstall: Usage: buildinstall --version
<version> --product <product> --release <comment> [--output outputdir]
[--discs <discstring>] <root>
Building Installation Images:
0.0% Got an error from /usr/lib/anaconda-runtime/buildinstall
(return code 1)
----------------------------------
so is there any change to build somehow a centos iso?
or should i've to install fedora-9 (as i remember it was worked on that)?

No groups present! Error was: No Groups Available in any repository
by Farkas Levente
hi,
while i try to run revisor on epel-5 manually i always got:
which is obviously not true since all repo was generated with :
createrepo -g /usr/share/revisor/comps/comps-c5.xml ...
so at least the default groups are in.
what else can be the reason?

Rawhide Revisor build fails - file not found: RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-test-ppc64
by d.marlin
I'm trying a Revisor build for rawhide using a config file that has
worked in the past. Now when I run it I see:
--------
Copying release note file RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-10-primary
Copying release note file RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-test-ppc64
Traceback (most recent call last):
:
IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory:
'/var/tmp/revisor-pungi/work/rawhide-i386/i386/docs/etc/pki/rpm-gpg/RPM-GPG-KEY-fedora-test-ppc64'
Traceback occurred, please report a bug at http://fedorahosted.org/revisor
--------
This is slightly surprising, since I am building only an i386 spin on an
i386 host (why would I need ppc64 keys). I tried building with the same
config file on and F10 host and got the same results.
The command line I used is:
sudo revisor \
--cli \
--respin \
--yes \
--config=/etc/revisor/revisor.conf \
--model=rawhide-i386 \
--kickstart=rawhide.cfg \
--kickstart-include \
--kickstart-default \
--install-cd
Could this be a result of 'pilot error', i.e., something I need to
update or something in my configuration, or should I file a bug report?
Thank you,
d.marlin

'Boot from local disk' doesn't work
by mad
Hi!
I created a spin of Fedora 8. Everything went fine. But I'm wondering
about the 'boot from local disk' option. It works on desktop computers
(HP dc5800) but not on servers (HP DL310 G5). After choosing the option
on the server the screen goes blank and nothing else happens.
Any idea how I could fix that?
Many thanks for any help
