Hi,
just thought if the Live defaults were intentional or omitted, using these
different defaults locally:
AutomaticLogin: I do not understand a username question on boot CD/flash, what
is it good for?
DisallowTCP: One cannot use xhost, ssh -R/-L for X connections etc. without it.
I am not a security expert but still the X server defaults ensure
this setting on it own is safe.

It logs in automatically, and does *not* pose a username question.

My understanding is that this simply disallows gdm listening for any
connections. Those other things you mentioned should still work once
logged in (but I could be wrong, I don't use gdm much).

Yes, I want the gdm listening for TCP connections for more flexible remote
clients operation. I was curious why one does not want the more flexible
remote clients operation on Live media.

But it waits for about - approx. a minute at the screen:

at least with Fedora-14-x86_64-Live-Desktop.iso - without the addition.
Waiting a minute is really too long so one has to login by hand.

I can see having multiple accounts on a flash drive with a persistent /home.
Also, isn't the login window where you get to pick locale settings?

Yes but in such case one creating multiple homes can change this option.
It is a very rare + advanced operation to create multiple users there IMO.

It gives the chance for a user to select the language before logging in.
