no rescue profile created on import
by Owen Beckley
On my old server running cobbler 1.6.6, whenever I used "cobbler import"
it created a "rescue-*" profile in addition to a profile for the distro.
Now I'm setting up a new server running cobbler 2.0.3.1. I've imported
distros using both remote rsync hosts and local DVD images. None have
created rescue profiles.
Was this feature removed? I've searched around, but couldn't find the
answer.

Can't import KVM guest image using cobbler
by David Knierim
I am attempting to add a KVM guest image to cobbler as described on this page:
https://fedorahosted.org/cobbler/wiki/KoanVirtualImageCloning
Specifically, I ran this command:
[root@ron-a ~]# cobbler image add --name=ron-c --virt-cpus=2
--virt-ram=1024 --file=nfs://sam-a/tank/nfs/cobbler_images/ron-c.raw
--network-count=1 --image-type=virt-clone --virt-bridge=cobbler
--virt-type=qemu
usage: cobbler [options]
Which gave me the error:
cobbler: error: option --image-type: invalid choice: 'virt-clone'
(choose from 'iso', 'direct', 'virt-image')
I then changed the image-type to try to avoid this message:
[root@ron-a ~]# cobbler image add --name=ron-c --virt-cpus=2
--virt-ram=1024 --file=nfs://sam-a/tank/nfs/cobbler_images/ron-c.raw
--network-count=1 --image-type=virt-image --virt-bridge=cobbler
--virt-type=qemu
Which gave me this error:
cobbler.cexceptions.CX:"image type must be 'direct', 'iso', or 'virt-clone'"
So now I am confused...
My host is running CentOS 5.5. I installed cobbler from EPEL or
EPELtesting repos using yum. Cobbler version is:
cobbler-2.0.5-1.el5.noarch
Can anyone offer some help on getting this to work?
Thanks,
David

syslog_port ?
by Dick Davies
Does cobbler 2.x still support the syslog_port: directive for anaconda
syslogging? (this used to configure anaconda to log install progress
to a port on Cobbler, to give you visibility of kickstart progress).
I've tried setting the option (which works in 1.6) , but nothing seems
to be listening on the UDP or TCP port I specify.

Failure during import
by Peter Loron
Hello, all. I have a Cobbler 2.003 install on CentOS 5.5 x86_64 in a VM
(VirtualBox) that I am trying to get to import a distro. I have the
CentOS 5.5 DVD mounted, and I issue this command:
cobbler import --name=CentOS55 --path=/mnt
The import goes fine until it hangs forever (or at least overnight) on
the "createrepo" step. The cobblerd service also shut down at this
point. The disto appears to be imported in the web ui, and I can select
it and start the PXE booted install, but it shortly stops with the
Kickstart error "Unknown Url method $tree".
Any pointers for fixing whatever is broken here?
Thanks!
