Re: [cobbler] ESXi 5.1 Build Fails
by Ravi A
I am using cobbler-2.4.0-1.el6. Today even I observed following error message.
Configuration error while parsing /boot.cfg
Fatal error: 15 (not found)
I used "ESXi_v51" as distro name while importing ESXi v5.1 as shown below. Then Cobbler created the directory /var/lib/tftpboot/images/ESXi_v51-x86_64/ with "ESXi v5.1 Installable ISO" file contents. To solve above mentioned error message, I copied /var/lib/tftpboot/images/ESXi_v51-x86_64/boot.cfg to /var/lib/tftpboot/images/ directory and edited /var/lib/tftpboot/images/boot.cfg file accordingly. Later installation went through successfully.
# cobbler import --path=/var/www/html/Cobbler/Mounted_ISO_Images/64bit_ESXi_v51_Installer_Build_799733/ --name="ESXi_v51" --arch="x86_64" --breed="vmware" --os-version="esxi51"
Is there any solution to handle all this manual work automatically ? Kindly reply.
Thank you,
Ravi

Re: [cobbler] How to avoid rsync at importing time to save "import time" ??
by Ravi A
James, I read the manual about --available-as option ("Importing Trees" heading). I think it will be good to readers if following "Example 6" is also included/considered. What is your opinion?
Example6: cobbler import --path=/path/where/filer/is/mounted --name=anyname --available-as=http://aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd/where/mounted/
Thank you,
Ravi

How to avoid rsync at importing time to save "import time" ??
by Ravi A
Hi, I am using cobbler-2.4.0-1.el6. I could import "CentOS v6 u3 64bit" as shown below without using "--rsync-flags" with "cobbler import" command. From /var/log/cobbler/cobbler.log during import time, 'rsync -a' requires more time and as a result more "importing" time. I don't want any updates/continuous updates about "CentOS v6 u3" and also don't want any regular/continuous "sync".
I also need few examples about using "--rsync-flags=RSYNC_FLAGS" with "cobbler import" commnad. Kindly do the needful.

Replicate failure, 2.0.11 to 2.2.3 upgrade
by nicholas geovanis
Hi to all -
I'm upgrading a cobbler server running cobbler 2.0.11 on CentOS 6.0,
installing fresh on a new machine running RedHat 6.1and cobbler 2.2.3. The
new install (cobbler from EPEL RPMs) is uneventful, "cobbler check"
indicates nothing suspicious-looking.
After initial configuration and check that cobblerd and httpd start-up OK,
I thought I would take the wiki recommendation and attempt a "cobbler
replicate". Verified rsync connectivity between the hosts. Result is the
"internal error" below. Wondering if I've missed something simple.
Thanks......Nick Geo
