Any luck with Debian 9.4?

Has anyone had any luck getting Debian 9.4 to install from CentOS-based Cobbler? Cobbler import works fine, it adds 3 options to the PXE menu, but the installer asks for the path to a CDROM when it's run, and I'm not sure what kernel parameters to specify that an NFS mount should be used as the CDROM source. Does anyone have an example PXE menu entry for a working Debian 9.4 in Cobbler?

reposync fail after downloading rpms

Hi... I'm trying to get cobbler to sync the new RH Oracle Java repo. I have a suitable key/cert pairing that allows me to access the repo and I can create a repo in cobbler with the key, cert and cacert file in the yum options as normal. when running a reposync, it downloads all of the rpms as expected but then fails to pull the repomd.xml file with an error related to key/sig: Tue Jan 23 15:08:46 2018 - DEBUG | received on stderr: Tue Jan 23 15:08:46 2018 - INFO | Exception occured: <class 'cobbler.cexceptions.CX'> Tue Jan 23 15:08:46 2018 - INFO | Exception value: 'urlgrabber failed to fetch metadata from https://cdn.redhat.com/content/dist/rhel/workstation/6/6Workstation/x86_64/… (14, \'curl#35 - "Peer reports failure of signature verification or key exchange."\')' Tue Jan 23 15:08:46 2018 - INFO | Exception Info: File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/cobbler/utils.py", line 106, in die raise CX(msg) If I try to pull that URL from the command line using the certs and key, it works fine. Complete path for a cobbler import of 7.4.1708 for x86_65.

Trying to find the complete path for cobbler import of an rsync, or whatever works, for CentOS 7.4 of the x86_64 architecture. All the mirrors I've tried simply don't have one. There is no x86_64 subtree. Does anyone have a complete path specification? And why isn't it the mirrors? Thank you.

Loading custom network drivers during kickstart

Dear All, I'm trying to install RHEL 7 onto an Oracle box that requires the forcedeth network driver for the NICs. This driver has been removed from RHEL 7 but is available in ELRepo. I have tested on a manual install and the drivers appear to work and I'd like to implement this in cobbler. I assume there is no way to do this other than creating a custom initrd.img file? If this is not correct can someone please enlighten me? How do I override the PXE template?

I’m trying to create a distro profile to pxeboot hosts against a matchbox (Kubernetes) provisioning host. Basically I just need hosts associated with this profile to write this to their pxelinux.cfg/ file: timeout 10 default iPXE LABEL iPXE KERNEL ipxe.lkrn APPEND dhcp && chain http://matchbox.subtraverse.intra:8080/boot.ipxe I see /etc/cobbler/pxe templates, but I’m not quite sure how I create a new one and how to associate that new template with my system profile or distro profile. Using variables in snippets

Spinning up on cobbler and running into a glitch that it most likely just a syntax issue. I've started by defining a kickstart that is just references to various snippets I want to use. I then created the snippets, so far so good. The kickstart gets generated but there's a couple variables not being parsed. I think the issue is my snippets typically are just a section of my kickstarts preceded by "#raw" and trailed by "#end raw". Is there any way to get variables evaluated when they are inside that raw section? I've used ${hostname}, \$(hostname) and $hostname in the snippets and they always show up just like that, I need them to be the actual hostname. Variables not filled out in template

Hi together, Im trying to import a kickstart template into cobbler profile and using in this variables from the profile. When I understand the documentation correctly, I can use these variables also in the %pre and %post sections. But when I try this, the variables will only get filled out in the upper section, like at the network command or in the %packages section. Any ideas what Im doing wrong or is this not possible? custom cobbler signature

Hello, I am trying to modify distro_signatures.json for a new SLES 15 OS but not having luck. I have added sles 12 sp3 with no issue. Even after adding the below section and restarting cobblerd I still receive "ERROR | No signature matched in /var/www/cobbler/ks_mirror/sles15-x86_64" Any suggestion on troubleshooting? PXE Booting Ubuntu 16.04 with UEFI

Hi I'm having trouble PXE booting Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial) on a Dell r620 (with iDrac7). The boot fails with these messages after contacting the cobbler server successfully: ---- NBP filename is /pxelinux.0 NBP filesize is 16794 bytes Downloading NBP file Succeed to download NBP file Downloading NBP file ... Succeed to download NBP file Boot failed: EFI Network 1 Boot Failed: ubuntu No boot device available Please ensure compatible bootable media is available. ---- Please could someone shed some light on what the reason for this might be, or how I could troubleshoot it further? Is there something special I have to do with PXE booting Ubuntu with UEFI enabled when using cobbler? Many thanks in advance for any help! Traiano

How to Change the boot Device order after a PXE installation of Virtualbox VM

Hi List I'm using cobbler to install virtualbox vms, which requires the boot order to be PXE -> Disk. However I'm not sure how to get cobbler to reconfigure the boot order so the VM boots off the disk after the install is complete (my VM attempts to boot off pxe again but fails because this is disabled in cobbler). Is there a confguration option in cobbler / kickstart that reconfigures the virtualbox device boot order once the install is complete? Thanks, Traiano
