Hi all,
I'm trying to get a f12 repo up under cobbler (on an f10 box at the moment).
reposync runs without complaint, but then yum on the client will bomb
with complaints about attributes in primary.xml and when I run xmllint
on the primary.xml(.gz) that's generated, I get errors, and it does look
like the xml is invalid.
I've re-downloaded the RPM packages, and looked at the SPEC's and I'm
not seeing anything obviously wrong. If it were merely LZMA or
something like that I'd expect more than two packages to have trouble,
but I'm not sure where to look next.

New subject: Upgrade to 2.0.1 issues
Hello all!
Just recently attempting to upgrade from the last 1.6 RPM release to
2.0.1. After the upgrade and weeding through the .rpmnew files I am left

the repos work fine both from f12 and from f11 updating to f12.
So, it seems the f10 versions of the tools can't handle some aspect of
the f12 packages.

My guess is this probably has something to do with the SHA256 changes
that went into yum etc around that time. Fedora 10's tooling probably
wouldn't have been able to generate it and then your F12 clients would
require that metadata in yum.

I have similar issues, I think.
I'm running cobbler 1.6.6 rel 1.fc11 with createrepo 0.9.7 rel 7.fc11
on an updated Fedora 11 box. So far, Cobbler 2 and createrepo 0.9.8
hasn't made it to Fedora 11.
I modified the cobbler install to allow me to add fedora12 (and
fedora13) installations as recommended, and did an import from the
Fedora12 i386 DVD iso.
Attempting to build boxen on VMware ESX Server 2.5.3 build-35703
produced consistent failures that appeared to be hardware related, but
mounting the DVD iso directly allowed the install to complete. After
a successful DVD-based install, I did another DVD-based install and
swapped the installation repo for the one in my cobbler installation
(http://puppet:80/cobbler/ks_mirror/F12-i386) and got the error below.
I tried the fix in ticket 463 (which had previously helped me with
this issue with CEntOS), but it failed because ./comps.xml wasn't
present in the cobbler mirror.
I had to:
createrepo -s sha -o . -g
repodata/6a72ae27742d1b4ac04f2eec0e5ffb0b7c909d58b9c6e346a7ee5cfb627832d4-Fedora-12-comps.xml

because the comps.xml was named that rather long string.
Unfortunately, this also didn't work for some reason, with similar but
slightly different results as Bill's original post:
So to be clever, I decided to try the Cobbler installation again but
modifying the F12's distro to swap out the tree for a local http
mirror of the Fedora12 i386 Everything repo. However, when I showed
rendered kickstart, it says:

2.0.0? It's not nearly as painful as this has been so far, but if
it's unlikely to help my situation I'd rather not burn the time until
later.

Never mind. I wiped my F11 cobbler server and switched to F12. Just
seemed like the right thing to do if I could, so I did. :)
