Fedora Docs Project,
My team has started an internal initiative to get some momentum for a Web
Development Fedora Project Labs Spin. This is a mostly selfish endeavor but
we figure the community can benefit from an eventual stable OSS Web Dev
environment on Fedora.
Our first step is to gather all of our internal documentation, clean it up,
and get a full step-by-step guide on the wiki, including FAQ's,
troubleshooting, and other steps necessary to get a full and modern OSS web
development environment on Fedora 25 & 26.
As far as background goes, I have contributed to other OSS projects such as
Blender and written an amount of internal documentation over my career. I'm
comfortable enough with Fedora to handle my own troubleshooting, and have
been programming in some form or another for 15+ years.
I've also done plenty of presentations at Drupal Camps / Conventions across
the U.S., as well as been part of some teaching opportunities in Florida
and Washington.
We intend to focus solely on OSS Web Development on Fedora (initially, PHP,
node.JS, MariaDB, Docker ecosystems and then expanding) for the foreseeable
future, so if the Wiki has room for a page dedicated to that topic then I'm
your point of contact and page author.
I'm in the Americas/Seattle PST time zone, with most of my colleagues in
the Americas/Raleigh EST time zone, and would of course appreciate a mentor
or at least some feedback.
Thanks all!
- Derek
