This is exactly the reason why I use virtual folders! I don't want to
micro-manage messages when notmuch can do that for me.

I use virtual folders almost exclusively. On rare occasions I open a
real folder, in case I suspect any of the automatic tagging in the
notmuch hooks are going wrong.
