Genome is highly customized to a very specific developer use case (and that all being said, it's good that it's out there for folks to see how Cobbler, Puppet, and Func might be interested in an application). I would not recommend it. It is much better to figure out how you'd want to use these things in your own way.
As the packager for Genome as well as all it's dependencies, this project definitely offers the new technology that one would use for cloud computing environments. As such, I think it'll be interesting to see the people (try and) apply it outside of the limited use-cases that the developers have now implemented.
FWIW, I would like to explore opportunities to have Genome implemented in the Fedora Infrastructure as well, but that's not up to me ;-)
