Memtest not added to PXE menus
by Chris O'Regan
I installed memtest86+ as per the instruction here:
https://fedorahosted.org/cobbler/wiki/MemTest
A "cobbler sync" did copy the image to /tftpboot/memtest86+-1.65 but it
hasn't added anything to my PXE menus. Am I missing something?
Thanks.

problems with management data
by Eric Doutreleau
Hi
i m using cobbler 1.6.4 and i m trying to use the management data with
cfengine.
But i have a problem i don't succeed in seeing the management classes
from the web interface
here is an example
i have put the management class sallestp on the system B008-04
cobbler system find --mgmt-classes=sallestp
B008-04
cobbler system find --hostname=b008-04.int-evry.fr
B008-04
then my profile B008-04 has the management classe sallestp and hostname
b008-04.
int-evry.fr
but http://cobbler/cblr/svc/op/puppet/hostname/b008-04.int-evry.fr
got me
classes: []
parameters: {}
then i don't find my management classes :(
am i doing the right thing?

Cobbler using LDAP nodes from puppet
by Derek T. Yarnell
So I have been working on preparing a deployment of new systems
deployment and management framework. We have had a in house pxe/
kickstart service that we have built and cobbler is a breath of fresh
air. However while I know I could use cobbler as a the external node
source for puppet I am not really satisfied with that solution.
Has anyone thought about how to get cobbler look directly at a puppet
schema for distro/profile/system parameters? I mean LDAP is really
the best way to scale this it would seem and obviously provides a
central repository where we can write tools to interact with.
I started poking in the code (however not having a ton of Python
experience) to where this could fit in but haven't found much so
suggestions would be helpful.
Thanks,
derek

Typographical error in Cobbler Wiki page "KickstartTemplating"
by Robert Knight
I see that the text describing the (relatively new) feature "getks" has
a small mistake:
In the section "Looking at results", in the code block under "For
systems:", it should read
cobbler system getks --name=system-name
rather than
cobbler profile getks --name=system-name

Debian development branch
by James Turnbull
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Hi all
I note an exchange a while back (1 May) about FHS, directories,
configuration and Debian/Ubuntu package submission. It talked about a
debian devel branch. I couldn't find the branch on the main git repo.
Is someone maintaining it?
If not, how easy would it be to make Cobbler paths more configurable? I
am presuming it'd be a relatively easy patch?
Regards
James Turnbull

[ANNOUNCE] 1.6.6 pushed
by Michael DeHaan
The previously announced update has been pushed due to popular demand
and to avoid too many questions about why F-11 imports aren't supported
yet :)
The two noticeable things for you are:
Cobbler 1.6.6 -- can import F-11 now
Koan 1.6.6 -- /usr/sbin/cobbler-register no longer has the typo in the
import line, so it's now usable*
* = though registration works much more nicely in the development
branch, I still hope this is useful now.
Thanks!

Debian inquries
by Michael DeHaan
I've got a couple of inquries off-list regarding what is left to do WRT
Debian support in Cobbler.
I've posted to the development list -- please join there if you are
interested.
The completeness of this support is basically up to those who want to
work on it, but I think there isn't really all that much to do and most
of it should be pretty easy.
