Hello all,
I am a CS graduate student at Carnegie Mellon University, and past
contributor to the Fedora Project via Google Summer of Code 2011.
For my research, I would like to have btrfs with content based storage
option. This idea is also listed on Btrfs ideas page ( https://btrfs.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/Project_ideas#Content_based_storage ).
I would like to implement that as a Google summer of code 2015 project.
However, I have not found any mentors for that idea yet. Are any of the Btrfs developers interested in mentoring the project?
Here is my brief background: As an undergraduate student, I worked on Ext4 snapshot project (
http://lwn.net/Articles/442078/). After that, I implemented snapshot revert function for Ext4 snapshots as a GSoC 2011 project with Fedora. Also, I have worked on Atheros based WiFi drivers for 3 years at a WiFi startup. So, I do have a good Linux kernel programming background.
