Just so we're clear: gtk-update-icon-cache is still needed for directories other than hicoler.
- unless those other, main icon theme packages have also added %transfiletrigger* scriptlets, like I've done for elementary and Paper.
But I doubt that there are any packages that add their icons to these icon themes, anyway.
