Siempre lo mismo con ustedes viejo.... Le dicen a la gente que reporten bugs y pueden pasar meses sin que tengan movimiento hasta que son cerrados por obsoletos. Uno se mete a hacer aportes en la lista de desarrollo sobre la versión que está por salir, en este caso Fedora 10, aportando comentarios y experiencias sobre rawhide y no le dan importancia para nada. Se enroscan en discuciones politicas, y cosas de "gente superada" Son una manga de inutiles... por eso la gente prefiere Debian o Ubuntu.... ustedes son tan craneos que se olvidan SIEMPRE de la gente, de los usuarios, de los desarrolladores perifericos, de los aportes de la gente, etc, etc, etc.... Siempre ustedes, la politica, y sus discuciones de cerebritos Yo convencí a 15 personas que se pasen de Windows a Fedora.... de hecho les hice soporte sin hacer lucro de eso, porque conozco bien a fedora (lo vengo configurando, administrando y usando desde Fedora Core 3), las herramientas de administracion, los "trucos", configuraciones, etc, etc... Pero bueno, ahora estoy cambiando de opinion y me parece que voy a evaluar Debian o Ubuntu, que parece algo un poco más serio que esta mentira de Fedora... es más, a la gente que la llevé hacia Fedora la voy a llevar a Ubuntu. Desde Fedora Core 3 que vengo usando y aportando en Fedora.... pero bueno, ahora estan en estrellas y parece que se olvidan de la gente que los bancó y defendió siempre... que fomentó Fedora en todos lados, trabajo, hogar, etc.... F10 blocker bugs

Sorry to interrupt with a technical Fedora-related potentially constructive non-political post :-) I submitted a bug that I think should be a F-10 release blocker (466207: evolution calendar crash) as it renders a major feature of a major application unusable. I'm seeing a Fedora 10 blocker (440169), Fedora 10 Desktop blocker (457945) and Fedora 10 kernel blocker (466414). Should I just use my own judgement and add the blocker to my submitted bug ? or is that up to the bug *owner* ? More generally, I'm surprised by how little technical discussion there is on this mailing list about bug fixing and bug blocker selections... -denis

Arabic and Hebrew on the console

We currently display Arabic and Hebrew translations on the virtual console in LTR mode using the glyphs in latarcyrheb-sun16. Obviously, that's not the preferred way. Should we leave it this way, or do the same substitution to en_US that we do for CJK locales? Bill

cross-compilers...

I see that our binutils has a very convenient binutils_target ifdef in it to make cross-binutils. Before I home-cook something to hack up some local up-to-date cross compilers for myself for icecream/distcc, do we have any semi-standard hackery for making arbitrary cross-gcc gcc/g++ rpms from our vanilla gcc one ? C.

I suspect there are many people have similar situation, thus EPEL is required. As for Fedora Legacy, just lack of critical mass. Splitting a package apart - normal package review needed?

We're pondering splitting the ghc (Glasgow Haskell Compiler) package into two: bsae ghc (retaining the ghc name) and ghc-platform (standard libraries). The need for this is driven by the fact that ghc and its standard libraries are going to be developed separately, and released on different cycles. (The "ghc-" prefix for the platform package merely denotes that it's Haskell code built to work with GHC.) Given this, is there any reason to put the new ghc-platform package through the normal package review process, or would there be some way to fast-track it?

NetworkManager-pptp

I was pleased to see this package hanging out in Koji today. Thanks Dan for packaging it, I've been looking forward to seeing this in Fedora. I've installed the x86_64 package from Koji to try it out on my F9 machine. Am I being too eager? :-) Anyway, I've configured up my VPN connection but I can't get it to work.
