EPEL-8 branches requests being rejected
by Michal Ruprich
Hi,
I am trying to request epel-8 branch for rsh package but the request is
always closed as invalid with this explanation: "The branch in PDC
already exists". I have no idea what that means. I simply cannot find
the epel-8 branch anywhere. Could anyone explain this and ideally point
me in the right direction as to where I can find the branch?
Thanks and regards.

One clarification. Not *all* builds available at AdoptOpenJDK are being
built by Red Hat's OpenJDK team. The builds in question done by us are
these specifically:
https://adoptopenjdk.net/upstream.html
Other builds available via the widgets on the landing page[1] are being
built on AdoptOpenJDK infra from upstream sources (which they mirror)
and some additional (optional) patches on top.
Thanks,
Severin

Self Introduction: David McCheyne
by David W McCheyne
Hello all.
New at packaging, here's my first review request: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1766375
I recently started a new DevOps Engineer job at a company that pushes a lot back out to the community, so this is my first contribution while I learn the process.
Most of my past experience is in automation stacks, and python development as well as general Linux SysAdmin stuff. I plan to try and contribute some other python libraries in the future that I'm personally enthusiastic about, and anything we generate in the office we can contribute back as well.
Cheers!

Okay, sure, paid support continues for two more years, but general
(freely available) support for Java 8 ended in January.
For most of us peons, general support EOL is functionally equivalent
to full EOL. That's why we end EPEL support on general support EOL
dates, and not the more nebulous LTSS EOL dates.
