Approved package review requests still opened
by Mattia Verga
Hello folks,
I'm trying to clean up a bit the list of new package submissions.
looking at
https://fedoraproject.org/PackageReviewStatus/in_progress.html there are
over 300 old package review requests which are approved, but still opened.
I'm slowly reviewing them one by one, moving things ahead, but I would
ask everyone here to check theirs and act appropriately:
- if the package is in Fedora repo, close the ticket as CURRENTRELEASE
- if the package was imported in Fedora repo, but was later properly
orphaned/retired, close the ticket as ERRATA
- if the package was approved and the repo was created, but you never
imported the package... either import it now if you're still interested
or retire it with `fedpkg retire` and close the ticket as NOTABUG,
marking it to block FE-DEADREVIEW
- if the package was approved more than 6 weeks ago and the repo was not
created, if you're still interested you will need to have someone
refresh the fedora-review flag (it means: a new review, possibly with an
updated srpm and specfile). Ask the assigned reviewer.
I also would like to remember to manually close the review ticket when
you import the package, or let Bodhi do that by adding the bugzilla id
to the update submission.
This is really an initiative of mine, so I may have written wrong things
in the list above... I tried to follow what the docs says about the
review process and to mimic the logic behind the review_stats script.
Please forgive me if I'm in error or if I'm acting above my paying grade.

Pull request "Merge" yellow?
by Richard Shaw
First time I've seen this. I assume this is because the merge would not be
100% clean but I don't actually know what happens in the background so I
wanted to ask here first.
Do I try to merge? Or try rebase?
Thanks,
Richard

caret in package version?
by Maxim Burgerhout
Hi all,
Just quickly checking before I file a bug.
The package containing ag (called "the_silver_searcher") currently has a
caret symbol (^) between the version and the snapshot info. The guidelines
seem to say about having shapshot information in the release tag:
Those items which are present are combined (with periods to separate them)
to construct the final Release: tag. In the usual notation where square
brackets indicate that an item is optional:
Am I correct in understanding that the caret symbol in this case should
actually be replaced by a period:
the_silver_searcher-2.2.0^2020704.5a1c8d8-1.fc34.x86_64.rpm?
Reason I'm asking: this seems to be a fairly recent change and it breaks
mirroring Fedora using Nexus.

Intent to orphan maven-verifier-plugin
by Ben Cotton
I adopted maven-verifier-plugin because it was a transitive dependency
for condor back in December 2019. I did essentially nothing with it.
It is no longer a part of the dependency chain and is about to fall
victim to the Javapocalypse[1]. So I plan on orphan it at the end of
the week.
If anyone wants to pick it up (and thus adopt the dependencies
jackson-bom, jackson-parent, jackson-core, apache-ivy, spice-parent,
hawtjni, jackson-databind, jackson-annotations, aopalliance,
weld-parent, jakarta-server-pages, jansi-native, jakarta-interceptors,
snakeyaml), let me know before then and I'll just hand it over to you
instead.

dracut broken in 054 -- bz#1965585
by Alexander Scheel
Hello all,
I wanted to raise awareness of https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1965585: this has regressed in dracut 054 and the pending dracut 055 update (https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2021-a3ab421a63) does not fix it.
Seeing as this is a regression affecting several users (adding 90s to boot time and preventing Wayland from starting, requiring fallback to Xorg); what are the next steps? Is it possible to untag 054 from updates? Could we get 055 masked so it does not get pushed either? See also conversation on #fedora between myself and TJ- attempting to debug this.
