A bit OT, but one really nifty solution for this problem is to use a
mail client that also does NNTP (e.g. Thunderbird), subscribe to the
gmane.linux.redhat.fedora.devel group through
news.gmane.org NNTP
server, reply to the message you want but changing the from: to your
mail account and the to: to the mailing list address. It threads
perfectly fine.
(and if you put the News folder on a shared service like Dropbox --
after all there are no passwords or private messages -- you can even
get a unified read/unread status like you do with IMAP mail)
