Welcome to the team!
Please note, you don't need to submit a package for review, if you'd
like to become a co-maintainer and the current maintainer will mentor you.
As I understand it, the original maintainer of the package isn't very active anymore
(if at all), so I'm not sure that's going to be an option. The bug I opened for
the new version has been sitting for over a month assigned to the current maintainer and
there's been no response. Is there a policy on transferring ownership of an abandoned
package?
