But then this problem showed up trying to sign my CLA:

Karl, thanks for your persistence and not leaving :)
No idea about the MIT problem you had, I was lucky and could just
copy+paste the examples and it worked first time.
If gpg -K lists your keys, try running:
gpg --sign fedora-icla-karl.txt
What is the "-a" for? I tried before and it also works on mine, and
asks for a passphrase...
