This one is actually 'fixable' through GUI:
Open Applications-->Add/Remove Software
If the repo is not available, pirut will fail but will also present the
dialogue box [1]. Click the ''Repository Manager'' button. This opens
''Repository Manager'' [2], where the repository can be
enabled/disabled.
I am not sure who will write this stuff and where is it supposed to be.

Maybe mine was a special case, (although it did happen on two separate
F8 installations)
no matter what I did, I could not get pup or pirut to work untilI
manually disabled the repo
by changing the enabled=1 to enabled=0 in
/etc/yum.repos.d/Fedora-install-media.repo.
