Summary: no autologin for liveuser after logging out
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Keywords: i18n, Regression
Severity: medium
Priority: low
Component: gdm
AssignedTo: jmccann(a)redhat.com

fedora-i18n-bugs(a)redhat.com
Estimated Hours: 0.0
Classification: Fedora
Target Release: ---
Description of problem:
No sure if it is intentional but with current gdm in rawhide after liveuser
logs out, autologin is not available at gdm login: which makes it hard to
change language or keyboard settings - specially if liveuser got autologged in
and actually had wanted to change language or kbd initially.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gdm-2.25.2-2.fc11
How reproducible:
100%
Steps to Reproduce:
1. login as liveuser in live rawhide spin
2. logout
3. try to change lang/kbd
Actual results:
3. no autologin so hard to change lang/kbd specially if one does not know
"Other... -> liveuser".
Expected results:
autologin to be available as in F10.

This bug has been filed because we've detected your package includes one or
several font files:
repoquery -C --repoid=rawhide -f '*.ttf' -f '*.otf' -f '*.pfb'
-f '*.pfa' --qf='%{SOURCERPM}\n' |sed -e
's+-[0-9.-]*\.fc[123456789]\(.*\)src.rpm++g'|sort|uniq
Unfortunately the script
does not detect symlinks to other packages, so if that's your case, you can
close this bug report now.
Otherwise, you should know that:
- Fedora guidelines
demand the packaging of fonts in a separate package or subpackage:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging/Guidelines#Avoid_bundling_of_fonts_…
- our font packaging guidelines recently changed, and every package that ships
fonts must be adapted to the new templates available in the fontpackages-devel
package.
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/PackagingDrafts/Fonts_packaging_automation_(2…http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_fonts_policy_packagehttp://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Simple_fonts_spec_templatehttp://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fonts_spec_template_for_multiple_fonts
Please make
your package conform to the current guidelines in rawhide.
If your package is not
principaly a font package, depending on a separate font package or subpackage
is the prefered solution. If your application does not use fontconfig you can
always package symlinks to the files provided by the font package and installed
in the correct fontconfig directories.
It is preferred to make a font package or
subpackage per font family, though it is not currently a hard guidelines
requirement (it may become before Fedora 11 is released). The definition of a
font family is given on
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fonts_spec_template_notes/font-family
The new
templates should make the creation of font subpackages easy and safe.
The
following packages have already been converted and can serve as examples: -
andika-fonts - apanov-heuristica-fonts - bitstream-vera-fonts - charis-fonts -
dejavu-fonts - ecolier-court-fonts - edrip-fonts - gfs-ambrosia-fonts -
gfs-artemisia-fonts - gfs-baskerville-fonts - gfs-bodoni-classic-fonts -
gfs-bodoni-fonts - gfs-complutum-fonts - gfs-didot-classic-fonts -
gfs-didot-fonts - gfs-eustace-fonts - gfs-fleischman-fonts - gfs-garaldus-fonts
- gfs-gazis-fonts - gfs-jackson-fonts - gfs-neohellenic-fonts -
gfs-nicefore-fonts - gfs-olga-fonts - gfs-porson-fonts - gfs-solomos-fonts -
gfs-theokritos-fonts - stix-fonts - yanone-kaffeesatz-fonts
If you have any remaining
questions about the new guidelines please ask them on fedora-fonts-list at

you install both
/etc/xdg/autostart/imsettings-applet.desktop
and
/usr/share/gnome/autostart/gnome-imsettings-applet.desktop
Thats one too many... it leads to imsettings applet showing up twice in the
list of autostarted session apps. It does not actually cause to be started
twice, so the problem is more cosmetic. But still, better to pick one location
to avoid problems with the two copies getting out of sync, etc.

+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #233257 +++
Description of problem:
Wrong Conjuct combinations are formed for U0C9D+U0CCA and U0C9D+U0CCB.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
fonts-kannada-2.1.5-3.fc8
How reproducible:
1. Every Time
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open gnome-character-map.
2. Select U0C9D followed by U0CCA followed by U0C9D followed by U0CCB.
Actual results:
As shown in the attached image
Expected results:
As shown by the following steps:
1. Install http://kannadakasturi.com/font/brhknd.ttf.
2. Open http://kannadakasturi.com/includes/transliterate.asp.
3. Enter the combination JoJO.
Additional info:
1. The fonts from http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=56358
also show the glyphs like kannadakasturi.com instead of like Lohit Kannada.
2. This is similar to earlier bugs: bug 231965 and bug 233257.
Hence I assume Lohit Kannada is at fault and not the other fonts.
