This bug still present in Fedora-28. Password is visible if ibus-typing-booster is enabled. Refer attachment in above comment.

*All* input have this problem in terminals, not only ibus-typing-booster. That is because there is no way for an input method to find out whether the terminal is excpecting a password. The terminal does not set any hints the input method could use and the input method has no way to get the text which is currently displayed in the terminal because terminals don’t support surrounding text.
I.e. there is no way to fix this in an ibus-input-method.
