Hi,
Sinse Xfce people deprecated the xfce4-mixer, that was the only
package of xfce core that depended heavily on gstreamer0.10, and now
that Andrzej developed xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin and was packaged on
fedora, I think it's time to make the leap to gstreamer1.0.
Where?.
Parole and Pragha at this time was compiled with gstreamer 0.10. Both,
can be compiled with gstreamer 1.0, and the ISO image not contain
others packages that depend on gstreamer 0.10
Why?.
Beyond the improvements, which are many, gstreamer developers
expressly said that would not accept any bug in 0.10.
Note: Parole 0.8 compile with 1.0 by default, and pragha 1.2 need
compile with 'configure --with-gstreamer=1.0'. Pragha 1.3.* that now
recomend also switch to gstramer 1.0 by default.
What do you think?
+1 from me.
Regards,
Matias.
p.s: xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin 0.2 was released.. Improve a lot. =)
For what it's worth I did a scratch build of 0.2 for rawhide and I'm
now using it on my machine. It seems to work fine. :)
