For a desktop distribution, power management should be kept
configurable for the individual user, no matter what desktop
environment she uses, with a nice settings dialog, just like
xfce4-power-manager does. XFPM uses DBus to call the power
functionalities and it doesn't matter what backend is there to
implement those power functions, e.g. consolekit/upower or (some part
of) systemd.

We just need xfce4-power-manager to handle this... which needs code. ;)
IMHO There should be more love available for systemd support from
the
general non-Gnome developers site.
